- You need to visit the Department of Stamps and Registration website for your state government. You need to find the website and register yourself there.
- Once you login to the portal, you will be redirected to the dashboard of your account. From there, click on Services and then select Online EC.
- Now, you will be asked to share the property details and along with the date range for the property registration check. Once you enter all the details, click on submit button and you will receive an OTP on your mobile.
- Enter the OTP and the Encumbrance Certificate will now be displayed on the screen. The document can be downloaded and printed as well.
It must be noted that it is free to check Encumbrance Certificate online but most of the state government charges a small fee to download the document. This downloaded document comes with a digitally signed verification. It can be downloaded from the website.
