Cuet Exam Pattern And Application Process

The Common University Entrance Test, previously named Central Universities Common Entrance Test, is a test conducted all over India by a National Testing Agency for admission to certified courses like undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and programs involving research in several Central Universities of India. It is also accepted at universities granted accreditation by the Department of Higher Education.

The pattern followed by CUET Exam

As more and more students enroll for these exams, CUET 2022 has already generated enough noise. The attention drawn by CUET is huge. It is expected to surpass its several previous editions.

The CUET 2023 plans to uphold the exams twice a year. It will hold exams in CBT and two shifts, which comprise two slots, the morning and evening. Depending on a particular subject, the exam would be held in three hours, fifteen minutes, and 3 hours, forty-five minutes, respectively.

About CUET 2023

It is a test conducted by NTA for UG Admissions across more than ninety universities. CUET score would serve as a basis for taking admissions in UG courses with several renowned universities like DU, JNU, Hyderabad University, and Allahabad University.

CUET: Exam Pattern

Proper CUET preparation involves knowledge of some future events and changes in current practices. This can be exercised by thoroughly understanding the CUET 2023 Exam pattern and preparing simultaneously for boards and CUET.

CUET Exam Pattern 2023 Revised

  • As per the notification from the CUET, the CUET Entrance test would be held in two slots. Both the slots vary in respect of duration.
  • No. of questions asked in section 1A are 50, and 75 in section III.

Kind of questions in CUET

  • CUET General test

There would be a total of 75 questions. Students are required to attempt 60 out of them.

  • CUET General knowledge

General knowledge plays an important role in every competitive exam. It covers knowledge of History, Civics, Geography, General Science and other such subjects.

  • CUET Current Affairs

A minimum of 10-15 questions are asked under CUET. Current Affairs provide us with information on the latest events in India or abroad.

  • CUET General Mental Ability

These questions test a student’s mental ability.

  • CUET Numeric Ability

The aim is to check the accuracy, speed and practical knowledge in mathematics. It includes basic mathematical questions.

  • CUET logical and Analytical Reasoning

These questions compel an individual to think and analyze one’s logic and reasoning.

The application process for CUET

CUET follows a strict application process that is arranged in sequential order, as given below:

CUET Eligibility Criteria

  • Students should have graduated class 12 from a recognized board in the Scientific stream to take admission to undergraduate courses.
  • For the general category, the candidate must score a minimum of 50 percent, whereas SC/ST requires 45 percent to be eligible for examination.

Things to keep in mind while filling the form

The following things are important to remember:

  • Candidates possess the limit to apply for up to three participating central universities only. If he wants to apply to more than three, he has to pay the application fee again.
  • Unless and until examination fees are cleared, exam authorities will not accept the application form.
  • On successful application and fee submission, the candidate receives an email or SMS on his registered phone number.

How to fill the application form

  3. Choose a password and security
  4. Receive an email
  • Fill the form

  4. Exam centre
  5. Declaration
  • Upload photo

The candidate must upload his/her scanned photograph and signature per specifications.

  • Select Course
  1. Select any three universities.
  2. Select any three courses.
  3. click or tap on the save and begin button.
  4. Edit the Edit application button or click submit.
  • Pay the fees

The candidate can pay the fees through debit card/credit card/net banking/UPI. Once done, his fee status would appear on the form.

 CUET 2023 Question Paper

Because CUET is computer-based, candidates will not be able to obtain CUET question papers on the day of the exam. However, the NTA will publicize the question papers and answer keys on its official website. The CUET question papers will contain 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
