Expressways are those four or six lanes roads that are mostly made in metropolitan and big cities. The Golden Quadrilateral is the highest expressway connecting Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. This project was initiated by Atal Vihari Bajpayee. The National Highways are known to provide the best driving experience to the people. 10. Noida – Greater Noida Expressway
This expressway is a six-lane road connecting Uttar Pradesh to Delhi. The roads between Uttar Pradesh and Noida has been made best than ever before. This expressway is very beautiful and 24 km long. This expressway is an elevated one and there is an elevated flyover on the expressway. The DND Flyer is 9.2 km long and that is an eight lane long highway.
9. Allahabad- Bypass expressway
This expressway is a part of Golden Quadrilateral and it is 82 km long, which makes it one of the longest expressway made in India. This four-lane highway runs on NH 2 to the direction of North of Allahabad city. There is another expressway, which is under construction in the Chennai Bypass, and it will be completed within a few days. The expressway is made with latest security system and it is made in an elevated way. The elevated Expressway is kept neat and clean.
8. Dankuni – Palsit Expressway
This expressway is also known as Durgapur Expressway. This expressway connects to the old Trunk road and it also connects Asansol and makes it easy for the people to move about. The Grand Trunk Road is one of the major roads of Asia and it is 65 kilometres in length. There is another expressway, which connects Kolkata to NH2.
7. Yamuna Expressway
Another major expressway is the Yamuna Expressway. Also known as Taj Expressway, it is 165 km in length and it is six lane accessed and controlled. It helps in the connection of Greater Noida with Agra. This expressway has beautiful flyovers and 7 interchanges in the expressway which makes it one of the longest. It is elevated up to few kilometres. There are CCTV’s installed in the expressway and it has SOS booths which helps in safety and giving guidance to people regarding prevention of accidents. One can find a petrol pump at a distance of 25 km in the Yamuna Expressway.
6. Eastern Expressway
The Eastern Expressway is six lane long and it connects Shatrapati Shivaji to Thane. This expressway is 24 km long and it also connects at Chemburat one point. This is considered as one of the busiest roads where business is carried on at all times.
5. Western Expressway
The Mumbai Western Expressway is eight to ten lane atrial road. This expressway is 25.33 km and it connects to Mahim creek and also extends to Mira Dahisar to the northern limit of the city. Above the city limit, it connects to Mumbai and Delhi in National Highway 8. An Andheri Flyover is built on the Western Expressway, which is long, and the design of the flyover is made in a unique way. The main purpose of building of the Western Expressway is to avoid traffic in Mumbai.
4. Delhi – Gurgaon Expressway
This expressway is very beautiful and it connects Delhi to Gurgaon. Delhi is also referred as the Green City. Delhi Gurgaon Expressway is also a part of the Golden Quadrilateral and it also connects Delhi to Mumbai. It is better to actually go on road trips in these expressways. The Delhi Gurgaon Expressway is one of the important expressway and it is 28 km long. It is a controlled expressway with tolls located in different parts of the expressway. The tolls collect money so that the expressway can be made better with each passing day.
3. Jaipur – Kishangarh Expressway
This Expressway connects Jaipur to Kishangarh and it is 92 km long. This highway is a six – lane highway, it is situated in Rajasthan, and it is also an important highway that has been constructed in India. This is considered as one of the best expressway that runs on National Highway 8. This expressway also connects to Bewar, which is a part of this project.
2. Ahmedabad – Vadodara Expressway
This expressway connects to Ahmedabad and Vadodara in NH 1 and it is one of the busiest national highways that are 95 km long. This expressway is a part of Golden Quadrilateral Project. It also connects to NH 8 and this is an important expressway.
1. Mumbai – Pune Expressway
This is India’s first six-lane highway, which was constructed for high-speed access and controlled mechanism. It cuts the distance from Mumbai to Pune by up to 2 hours and you will reach Pune faster. It passes through mountain ranges and tunnels and this expressway has been built in a very beautiful way. This is the longest expressway built in India and the new one has replaced the making of the old one.
