The Constitution started its work from 26 November and it came into force on 26th January 1950, when the nation celebrates Republic Day with great joy and happiness. It was the time when the country declared complete Independence, for which, thousands people died. 10. Time taken to form the Constitution

The 389 members of the Constituent Assembly took 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to form the constitution of our country. It is because of them, that today we are able to enjoy so much of freedom and liberty.

9. The National Emblem

One of the most interesting facts about the Indian constitution is that on January 26, 1950 the lions of the Sarnath temple was adopted as the national emblem along with the bull, wheel, and horse.

8. Members of the Constituent Assembly

There were 385 members of the constituent assembly, of which, 292 were the members of the provincial legislative assembly and the remaining were elected from the princely states. And with that they also added the four chief commissioners provinces of Delhi, Ajmer-Marwar, Bluchistaan and Coorg. It is one of the most interesting facts of the Indian Constituion.
