Rashtriya Military School Dholpur was established on 16th July 1962. It is the only Rashtriya Military School to have been established after independence. The school campus is spread over an area of over 1500 acres and the school building is the palace of the erstwhile Maharaja of Dholpur, Udaybhan Singh. RMS Dholpur is a residential school and has classes from VI to XII. It is affiliated to CBSE.
Admissions
The entrance test is conducted in the month of December every year. The questions asked in the examination are from English, General Knowledge, Mathematics and Intelligence of Class V standard or Class VIII standard. No entrance test is conducted for admissions to Class XI. Instead, the marks obtained in the Class X board examination are considered. Candidates who are successful in the common entrance test are called for interview. The final merit list is published on the school website. The students are required to undergo medical tests at designated hospitals to ascertain their fitness level.
70% seats are reserved forwards of JCOs/OR of Army, Navy and AF (including Ex-servicemen) and 30% seats are forwards of Officers of Army, Navy and AF (including retired Officers) and wards of civilians. SC and ST reservations stand at 15% and 7.5% respectively. 50 seats are reserved for sons of personnel martyred in action.
Application forms can be obtained from any RMS by paying Rs 550 (Rs 275 for SC/ST candidates).

RMS Dholpur is equipped with digital classrooms for interactive learning. The school also has modern prep rooms for studies. Internet enabled computer room is present in the school.
