📝 Storyline
Ramabanam revolves around two brothers with contrasting ideologies. Rajaram, the elder, is a pacifist running a restaurant and advocating for organic food practices. His younger brother, Vicky, is rebellious and believes in confronting injustice head-on.
After a fallout with a rival restaurateur, Vicky leaves home and becomes a gangster in Kolkata under the mentorship of Guptha. Years later, he falls in love with Bhairavi, whose father disapproves of their union, believing Vicky to be an orphan. To prove otherwise, Vicky returns to Hyderabad with Bhairavi to reunite with his family.
Upon his return, Vicky discovers that his family is under threat from GK, a corrupt food manufacturer and the son-in-law of Paparao. GK seeks revenge against Rajaram for exposing his adulteration practices. Vicky takes it upon himself to protect his family, leading to a series of confrontations that test familial bonds and personal convictions.
🧐 Reception
Despite the film’s attempt to blend action and family drama, critics pointed out its reliance on outdated tropes and lack of innovation. The Times of India noted that Ramabanam “has nothing new to offer,” while The Hindu criticized its failure to build on an intriguing storyline. Cinema Express highlighted issues such as unmemorable songs and miscast antagonists, leading to a middling reception.
📊 Box Office Performance
With a production budget of approximately ₹20 crore, Ramabanam managed to gross around ₹14.5 crore, falling short of expectations and resulting in financial losses for the producers.
For viewers interested in exploring themes of familial bonds and action-packed drama, Ramabanam is available for streaming on Netflix.
