Biography
Kapil Sharma hails from the holy city of Amritsar, where he was born to a father working as a police constable and a homemaker mother. After completing his studies in the local Hindu College, Kapil made a humble beginning as a PCO operator. Having a flair for comedy, he started working in a small talk show called “Hasde Hasande Raho”, but he made it big on the Indian television with the standup comedy show called “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge”.

Kapil Sharma’s journey to become a successful personality is an eventful one, as he faced disappointment at the beginning of his career when he was first rejected in the auditions for a comedy reality show held in his home city. But he persevered and decided to try again and was finally selected in the auditions of “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge”. Later, he went on to win the show and bag a prize of Rs 10 lakh.
