Tiger Shroff Firing in Mumbai: What Happened in Juhu, Who Was Injured and Latest Arrests

Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff was targeted in a shooting outside a football ground in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday, October 18, 2026. Several shots were fired at his BMW as he was leaving the venue, sending people nearby running for safety. The actor escaped without bullet wounds, but his driver and another man were injured. Within a day, investigators had detained three suspects in Rajasthan, while a claim of responsibility linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang raised further concerns about threats against film personalities.

What Happened Outside the Football Ground?

The attack occurred at around 7 pm near Pushpa Narsee Park, close to the Jamnabai Narsee school grounds in Juhu. Shroff had been playing football and was preparing to return home. Fans had gathered outside to see him as his car moved towards the road. According to accounts cited in the police complaint, two young men approached the vehicle and fired from the front and left side. A third person was waiting nearby on a motorcycle to help them escape.

Video footage circulated online appeared to show the attackers firing repeatedly before fleeing together on the bike. Early reports differed on the number of shots, but subsequent police accounts described five rounds. Witnesses said some people initially mistook the loud noises for Diwali firecrackers before realizing gunfire had broken out.

Was Tiger Shroff Injured?

Police said Shroff had not been struck by a bullet. However, photographs taken after the incident showed dressings on his body and a bandaged arm. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who visited the actor, said he had suffered minor injuries from gunpowder and broken glass.

Shroff’s longtime caretaker and driver, Firdosh Ibrahim Baloch, sustained a gunshot injury to his left hand. The first information report also described a fracture to a finger on his right hand. Another man, identified in reports as Umesh Chavan, was injured in the chest. The wounded men received hospital treatment, and police subsequently said both were out of danger. According to the complaint, Shroff drove his injured caretaker away from the scene to seek help.

How Police Tracked the Suspects to Kota

Mumbai Police registered a case under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita relating to attempted murder and common intention, along with the Arms Act. Investigators examined CCTV footage, questioned witnesses and traced a motorcycle believed to have been used in the escape. It was recovered near Andheri West railway station.

On Monday, October 19, police in Rajasthan intercepted three suspects at Kota railway station following information shared by the Mumbai Crime Branch. Two adults were arrested and a 17-year-old was detained. Reports identified the adults as Rehan and Hrithik Kumar; the suspects were reported to have connections to Haryana and Bihar. Investigators are examining their individual roles, who arranged the attack and whether others helped plan or finance it.

Did the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Claim Responsibility?

After the shooting, a social media message and an audio or video statement attributed to Anil Pandit, who has been linked in reports to the Lawrence Bishnoi network, claimed responsibility. The message reportedly warned people working with Salman Khan and referred to the gang’s longstanding hostility towards him.

That claim must not be confused with a finding by investigators. Police initially said they had not independently verified the statement or established the gang’s involvement. The motive, alleged instructions and any connection between the detained suspects and the people making the claim remain matters for investigation.

Political Reaction and Latest Status

The shooting prompted a security response and renewed questions about the safety of celebrities in Mumbai. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis sought action from police, while Deputy Chief Minister Shinde visited Shroff and condemned the attack, promising that intimidation would not be tolerated. The incident also drew attention because of earlier threats and shooting cases involving entertainment-industry figures.

As of October 19, three suspects had been apprehended and the Crime Branch was continuing its inquiry. The crucial unanswered questions are who ordered the gunfire, why Shroff was targeted and whether the responsibility claim can be supported by evidence.
