For its recent offering, the Summer Showdown, the GTCC placed a staggering Php 10 million prize pool, with half of it going to the eventual Tongits champion. Php 1 million and Php 488,000 going to the second and third placers.

With the rewards laid out, a lot will be interested, and if you are too, then I have some tips that could create an advantage for your preparation.

Did you practice enough for the GTCC tournament?

One of the best preparations players can make is to practice Tongits. GTCC is a Tongits tournament, so having the knowledge or becoming an expert in the card game is a requirement.

You will go up against seasoned players who have in-depth experience in Tongits, so it is beneficial for you to be at the same level or even better than them. Immersing yourself in the card game takes effort and dedication. Not everybody lives off that principle, so having the innate determination to become better can be your edge against fellow participants.

In terms of the mode wherein you can practice Tongits, you can explore between online and traditional setups. Both modes offer distinct advantages that can improve your play. Online provides accessibility, which could give you more repetitions compared to the traditional method. But what a traditional setup gives out is the experience of going up against fellow players face-to-face. Pressure is an underrated aspect of competition, so being able to handle it in a nerve-wracking situation is a major boost. GTCC is not just pressure-packed competition; it offers life-changing rewards that can alter your future.

If you are interested in playing online, GameZone has its own set of Tongits games that you can consider. From traditional rules to new twists of Tongit’s inventions, Game Zone online games has it for you.

How the qualification process in GTCC works

In order to be geared for the upcoming competition, you should know how to qualify. At the end of the day, your preparation will go to naught if you are not qualified in the first place.

During the Summer Showdown, the gateway to enter was the Tongits Free Multi-Table Tournament. The Tongits MTT is an online Tongits tournament in GameZone online that is available daily. To play, one should be able to experience the Tongits games of the platform.

In Tongits MTT, players can win prizes that vary depending on the particular event they played in. Aside from the prizes, during the selection process of GTCC: Summer Showdown, the online tournament served as the battlefield for aspiring players.

From April 25 to May 23, players who squeaked into the weekly leaderboard were given online finals tickets. After determining the total number of participants, they battled in the online finals to determine the qualified players for the tournament.

Knowing the landscape of the tournament

The GameZone Tablegame Champions Cup (GTCC): Summer Showdown threw down the gauntlet with a nail-biting Tongits competition featuring a whopping prize pool of Php 10 million between June 11 and June 15.

It took off on 11 June with registration, followed by an opening ceremony during which the formality of accreditation was done with the Games and Amusement Board, as well as player profiling via an official photoshoot. Officially speaking, the show began on June 12 with the Knockout Round competition: 93 qualified players showed up for this round. By the end of the day, nine players had been cleared, leaving 84 in the mix.

Day 3 changed the game plan since it featured upper and lower brackets. Taking into account the Knockout Round scores, the top 30 ranked players got into the Upper Bracket, while the others were put into two Lower Brackets. Ultimately, nine were left standing: five came from the Upper Bracket, and four held up the Lower to battle it out for the semifinals.

On June 14, nine semifinalists showed off their skills, wit, and strategy in the fight for three slots in the finals. This heart-pounding round added more fuel to the already fired-up expectations heading into the grand finals.

The competition peaked on June 15, when the 3 finalists faced each other in an exciting contest for the much-coveted title and prizes. The GTCC: Summer Showdown was one of the games that showcased the ability of Tongits, combining skill and strategy into an indelible event for the watchers.
