Gujarat Titans Storm Into IPL 2026 Final After Beating Rajasthan Royals

The stage is now set for a blockbuster IPL 2026 final. Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets in a thrilling Qualifier 2 clash and booked their place in the final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru tomorrow in Ahmedabad.

It was one of the most entertaining playoff matches of the season. The game had everything — explosive batting, young stars, captain’s brilliance, pressure moments, and a massive chase under lights. Shubman Gill produced a stunning century when GT needed it the most, while teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi almost stole the show with a fearless 96 for RR.

Rajasthan Royals Posted A Huge Total

After winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals decided to bat first at Mullanpur. Early on, GT bowlers looked in control as RR lost quick wickets, but then came the counterattack from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

The 15-year-old played with unbelievable maturity. He smashed 96 runs from just 47 balls and attacked almost every Gujarat bowler. His innings included powerful sixes, clean drives, and fearless pull shots. At no point did he look nervous despite the pressure of a knockout match.

He found support from Ravindra Jadeja, who remained calm at the other end and added an unbeaten 45. Then came a late explosion from Donovan Ferreira. The South African batter completely changed the momentum in the final over by smashing multiple sixes off Rashid Khan.

RR finished with a massive 214/6 in 20 overs, which looked more than enough in a pressure playoff game.

Shubman Gill Played One Of His Best IPL Innings

But Gujarat Titans had different plans.

From the very first over, GT came out attacking. Captain Shubman Gill looked in complete control. He timed the ball beautifully and punished every loose delivery. His partnership with Sai Sudharsan changed the match completely.

The duo added a stunning 167-run opening partnership in just 77 balls. RR bowlers simply had no answers. Gill mixed elegance with aggression, while Sudharsan attacked the gaps and kept the required run rate under control.

Gill eventually scored 104 off 53 balls, one of the finest innings of IPL 2026. His knock included classy boundaries through cover, flicks over midwicket, and fearless hitting against pace and spin alike. He led from the front exactly when his team needed him most.

Sai Sudharsan also played a brilliant hand with 58 off 32 balls before getting out. By then, the match was almost over. GT chased down the target in just 18.4 overs and won comfortably by seven wickets.

RR’s Bowling Failed Under Pressure

Rajasthan Royals will feel disappointed with their bowling effort. Defending 214 in a playoff should normally be enough, but their bowlers struggled badly with line and length.

Jofra Archer tried to create pressure early but GT’s openers attacked him fearlessly. The spinners could not stop the flow of runs either. Once Gill settled in, RR slowly lost control of the game.

Their fielding also looked nervous during key moments. Missed opportunities and pressure errors made the chase easier for Gujarat.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Became The Biggest Positive For RR

Even though Rajasthan lost, the biggest talking point remained Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

The teenager has been one of the breakout stars of IPL 2026. Reports after the match revealed that he also became the fastest batter to reach 1000 IPL runs in terms of balls faced.

RR captain Riyan Parag praised him after the match and said the youngster does not simply slog blindly but plays proper cricketing shots with maturity.

For Rajasthan fans, his rise will remain one of the brightest memories of the season.

Gujarat Titans Reach Another IPL Final

This victory takes Gujarat Titans into their third IPL final since joining the tournament in 2022. That level of consistency is remarkable for a relatively new franchise.

GT had earlier lost Qualifier 1 against RCB, but they bounced back strongly. Their batting lineup now looks dangerous, especially with Gill in this form.

The bowling unit also has experience with names like Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada, and Mohammed Siraj ready for the final challenge.

All Eyes Now On GT vs RCB Final

Tomorrow’s IPL 2026 final between Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru is now expected to be massive.

RCB already defeated GT earlier in the playoffs, so Gujarat will be hungry for revenge. On the other side, RCB fans are dreaming of another title run after a dominant season.

The battle between Shubman Gill’s calm leadership and RCB’s aggressive approach could decide the trophy. Ahmedabad is expected to witness a packed stadium and one of the biggest IPL finals in recent years.

After last night’s incredible Qualifier 2, the excitement for the final has reached another level.
