The internet banking service on a Kotak Mahindra account does not come activated in default; the user should apply to get an internet banking account and then activate the account. Here is how to do it.

Step 1: Open your web browser

Step 2: Navigate to the official Kotak bank website or click here to go directly to the page

Step 3: On the page that appears on the screen, you will find a fill up form with fields requesting to enter the account details.

Step 4: The first field will be to enter the CRN number, unless you are thorough with the banking sector, you might find it confusing. The CRN number is the number noted below the name on your debit card. Enter this number and then enter the nick name. Now, agree to the terms and conditions and click the “Continue” button.

Step 5: In the next page, fill in the fields with all the requested data’s. Remember to enter the registered mobile number and email ID into the fields as most of the further communication would be through any one of these methods. Click the “Continue” button

Step 6: Now, on the next page you will be asked to select any one method from a list of 4 to generate the password, all you have to do is select a method and then proceed. Here I am selecting the method “Debit card details” a new fill up form with the fields to enter the Debit card details will appear on the screen. Enter all the details as requested and click “Continue” button.

Step 7: In the new page, you will be prompted to enter the password, enter a password and then click the continue button

Once, this process is completed, within 2-5 hour you will be delivered a 6 character password to the registered mobile number. Save this password and here is how to login to you internet banking account.

Step 1: To login to your internet banking account, visit the official website of Kotak Mahindra internet banking or click here to go directly to the page

Step 2: In the page, enter the CNR number as requested, PS: CNR number is the number on the debit card below the cardholder’s name. Enter the CNR number

Step 3: After entering the CNR number, you will have to enter the password. The password you enter should be in such a way that first 6 word the password you set and then the next 6 words the password that was delivered to your registered mobile number. So the password will have a total of 12 words.

Step 4: Click the “Secure Login” button and you will be logged into your Kotak Mahindra internet banking account.

Once you are logged-in to your account, you could consider changing the password to a new password.
