You might be aware of the ESI Scheme that is offered by the government and as an employer, it is your responsibility to make the payment of the required amount for your employees. If you have never made the payment for ESIC before then do not worry as we are going to guide you with the process of logging in and making payments online.
Pre-Requisites for Making Online Payment for ESIC
Before we begin, it should be noted that you must have ESIC Login Details that you would have received after the registration with ESIC. In addition to this, you must also have SBI Net Banking facility to make the payment. Presently, only the employers with SBI Net Banking can make the payment.
If you meet the requirements mentioned above then you can move to the next step to login and make payments
Steps to Login and Make Online Payments for ESIC
=> ESIC Website – To begin the process, you need to visit the ESIC Website. The link to the website is esic.in. We would suggest you to use internet explorer or the latest version of Mozilla Firefox to access the portal.
=> Login Page – On this page, you need to click on the Login Link which will be visible on the right side of the screen. This will take you to a login page.
=> New User or Existing User – If you do not already have an account then you can register and obtain a username and password for yourself by clicking on Sign Up. If you have the User Name and Password then you can login to the portal directly.
=> Monthly Payment – After you login, you will be routed to the main page of your account. Will see many options there and from the list of options, select “Online Monthly Contribution Screen”. This will take you to a new screen.
=> Bulk Upload Data – Here, you can submit the details of monthly contribution and the good part is that you can even bulk upload the details with help of excel file. The upload process is very easy and the interface is quite easy to understand.
=> Make Payment – Submit the details and you will be able to see the amount that needs to be paid. Once that is done, click on Pay Online button. This will then take you to the SBI Screen for the payment. Complete the payment and you will be routed back to ESIC Portal. You can save and print the details as well.

Generating Challan with ESIC Portal
=> Login Page – After the login, you need to click on the link for “Generate Challan” to get a copy of challan.
=> Enter Details – Now, enter the employer code and click on View. This will display the details of the payment and you can now select the employee against which you wish to make the payment.
=> Submit and View – Also enter the payment amount and click on the submit The challan will now be generated.
Reprinting Challan and Verification
You can even verify the Challan after you have made the payment. Here is the process of checking the details
- Login – After the login, click on “Online Challan Double Verification” This will take you to a new page for verification.
- Verification –On this page, enter the challan number that you wish to verify and click on Submit button. The Challan details along with the transaction status will now be displayed.
