China is the global leader in terms of having some of the biggest companies in the world, a few of them featuring in the top 10 list too, as published by the Forbes 2000 list in the recent times. It was made on the basis of factors such as profits, assets, revenue and market value.

The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China tops the list of largest companies in the world. Founded in 1984, this is the largest bank in the world, with total assets of $ 3124.9 billion and profit of $ 42.7 billion.
2. China Construction Bank
On the second spot in this list is the China Construction Bank, which is the second largest bank in the world. It has a whopping assets value of $ 2449.5 billion and market value of $ 174.4 billion. Additionally, it makes a huge profit of $ 34.2 billion.
3. Agricultural Bank of China
The third rank in the list of top 10 companies in the world is occupied by the Agricultural Bank of China, which makes a profit of $ 27 billion, along with the asset value of $ 2405.4 billion and market capitalization of $ 141.1 billion. It was established in 1951 and today is solidly positioned among the “Big Four” banks in the country.
4. J P Morgan Chase & Co
Featuring next on this list is a US based company called J P Morgan Chase & Co, which is the largest bank in the country. Its establishment took place as a result of a merger between J P Morgan & Co and Chase Manhattan Corporation in 2000. The asset value of the company is $ 2435.3 billion and its profits are $ 17.3 billion.
5. Berkshire Hathaway
Berkshire Hathaway is another American company to make it on the list of top 10 companies in the world. This huge company has some big names under its list of subsidiaries, including Dairy Queen, NetJets, Heinz, Mars and GEICO, to name just a few. It has assets worth $ 493.4 billion and profits of $ 19.5 billion.
6. Exxon Mobil
The next name on this list is of another US based oil and gas company called Exxon Mobil, which was founded in 1999 as a result of a merger between Exxon and Mobil. The assets of this company were valued at $ 346.8 billion while its profit was $ 32.6 billion.
7. General Electric
General Electric is another US company, which lies at no 7 on this list. This company is popularly known as GE and it company deals in energy, infrastructure, consumer goods, industrial goods and capital finance. Its assets value is $ 656.6 billion and profits are $ 14.8 billion.
8. Wells Fargo & Company
Well Fargo & Company is on no 8, with assets valued at $ 1543 billion and profit of $ 21.9 billion. This banking and finance company is based in San Francisco, California and is one of the largest banks in USA.
9. Bank of China
Featuring next on the list is Bank of China, which is among the Big Four banks of China, making a profit of $ 25.5 billion and having assets worth $ 2291.8 billion. It is also the oldest bank in the country, which was established way back in 1912.
PetroChina comes on no 10 in the list of top 10 companies in the world. This biggest oil and gas company in China, has net assets valued at $ 386.9 billion and profit of $21.1 billion.
Some other leading companies in the world are Toyota Motor, Royal Dutch Shell, Apple, HSBC Holdings and Bank of America.
