Richa Chadda was born in Amritsar, Punjab and hails from a Punjabi family, though her mother is Bihari by ethnicity. She was raised in Delhi, where her father ran a management firm and her mother taught as a professor in PGDAV College. She did her schooling from Sardar patel Vidyalaya and completed her graduation in history from the prestigious St Stephen’s College. Later, Richa joined Sophia College in Mumbai to pursue a post graduate diploma in Social Communication Media. Besides her theater and film career, Richa has been an active supporter of animals rights organization, PETA, modeling in its ads to support vegetarianism. She has also been a part of Lakme Fashion Week. Richa has proved that one need not have a Godfather in the industry, but can attain success with sheer talent, hard work and dedication.
Richa Chadda started her career as a model and later joined a theater group, which performed in India and Pakistan. She also trained under Barry John to polish her acting skills.
